Bracket Style Steel Competition.
$80 Entrance Fee per shooter. $30 goes to the winners pot.
Bring your best as we aren’t running this by class. 32 shooters will compete head-to-head and at the end there can only be one winner. This is a bracket style shooting competition. There will be 3 qualifier stages that everyone will shoot to determine bracket positions.
Rules: Handguns
-Handguns chambered in 9mm minor, 40S&W minor and 45ACP allowed.
-No restrictions on use of optics, comps or magazine capacity. No braces allowed.
-Holsters must conform to Steel Challenge regulations.
Qualifier 1: Dueling Trees (18 round min)
3 dueling trees offset at 10, 15, and 20 yards. Shooting to take place from inside the shooters box at RO’s command. Start in surrender position, empty hands above shoulder level, and draw from holster at the beep. All plates on the dueling trees will start on one side and you must engage them to flip them from white to orange. 10 second penalty incurred for each plate not successfully flipped.
Qualifier 2: Texas Stars (20 round min)
4 Texas Stars set one behind the next, starting at 10 yards, directly in front of the shooter. All shooting will be done from inside the shooters box when directed by the RO. Start in surrender position, empty hands above shoulder level, and draw from holster at the beep. You must successfully navigate knocking off all 20 plates from the Texas stars. You may shoot in any order needed to be able to successfully complete this stage. Any plates left incur a 10 second penalty per plate.
Qualifier 3: Shooting Gallery (50 round min)
A mix of 25 single plates and falling steel will be set between 15 and 25 yards spread across the bay. Each plate may only be attempted once with a 5 second penalty incurred with each miss. Extra shots incur a 10 second penalty. All shooting to be done from inside the shooters box when directed by the RO. Start in surrender position, empty hands above shoulder level, and draw from holster at the beep. Mandatory Mag change after first 15 rounds. 2 runs through on this stage with your time being combined for your overall stage time.
Times for the qualifier stages will be added together, and your overall combined time will determine your placement in the bracket.
Bracket Stages- Some Bracket stages may be shot twice if needed, depending on number of competitors.
Head to Head Dueling Tree:
Dueling Tree set 10 yards from Shooters boxes with white on one side of the plates and orange on the other. Dueling tree will start with 3 orange plates on one side and 3 white plates on the other. Shooter with fastest qualifier time chooses his/her shooters box. All shooting will take place from inside the designated shooters boxes at the direction of the RO. Start in surrender position, empty hands above shoulder level, and draw from holster at the beep. Both shooters will be engaging the Dueling tree at the same time. First shooter to knock all plates to the opponents color wins. Winner moves on to the next bracket level.
Big Poppers:
Crossing big poppers set at 15 yards from shooters boxes. All shooting will take place from inside the designated shooters boxes at the direction of the RO. Shooter with fastest qualifier time chooses his/her shooters box. Start in surrender position, empty hands above shoulder level, and draw from holster at the beep. Both shooters will be engaging their Popper at the same time. First shooter to knock down their plate wins the round. This stage is to be shot 5 times. Best 3 out of 5 rounds wins and advances to the next bracket level.
Texas Star & Dueling Tree combo:
Texas Stars placed at 10 yards directly in front of each shooters box with a Dueling tree placed at 15 yards in between. All shooting will take place from inside the designated shooters boxes at the direction of the RO. Shooter with fastest qualifier chooses his/her shooters box. Start in surrender position, empty hands above shoulder level, and draw from holster at the beep. Shooter will start by engaging his/her Texas Star. Once all plates have fallen from Texas star, Shooter may then engage the dueling tree. Fastest shooter to knock all plates on the dueling tree to the opponents side wins the round. This stage to be run 5 times with the winner to advance to the next bracket level.
Final- Small Poppers
Crossing small poppers set at 15 yards from shooters boxes. All shooting will take place from inside the designated shooters boxes at the direction of the RO. Shooter with fastest qualifier time chooses his/her shooters box. Start in surrender position, empty hands above shoulder level, and draw from holster at the beep. Both shooters will be engaging their Popper at the same time. First shooter to knock down their plate wins the round. This stage is to be shot 7 times. Best out of 7 rounds is overall Winner.
Winner takes home the Winners Pot- Cash prize equal to $30 from each competitor.
**If there is time available we will run the brackets again with PCC. $80 per shooter with $30 going to the Winners Pot.
